GIFTS FOR PARENTS WITH DISABILITIES

Three Nis` families, in which parents with disabilities have children, received gifts from Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and City of Nis, in cooperation with Association of Children and Cerebral Palsy. Families got presents according to their needs, that’s why someone got a stroller, someone child seat for car, clothing, and everybody got children cosmetics and diapers – says Zorica Stojiljkovic, member of Council of CM Palilula, who led delegation of City of Nis during the visit.
Milan Antic, one of parents, says that this is first time that they get from the state help and he is grateful for this. He is also and surprised with this kind of visit. Family Antic lives of disability pensions, and help in rising children receive from their relatives. “I and my wife have some pension. I have pension of 12000 RSD and allowance for the care of 6000 RSD and she have some pension of 11.000 RSD, so we started very brave and go on to be equal with all people, to say with the normal people. It means to be equal.
We suffer from children and cerebral palsy, but we have to go boldly to faith. It means always is motive go further and better, it means bit disease and that fear how to have a child. It is all some kind of will for life, there is a charisma in all of this. And we will never give up. We never gave up, we move on. We even thought of another child but on this later” saying Milan Antic.
Presents got and quarterly Strahinja, son of Jasmina Barac Perovic and Miljan Perovic. Jasmina give birth to a child in Belgrade, and November 5th, when Stahinja was born, her dream and dream of her husband fulfilled. To the parents, but and other persons with disabilities, the most necessary is job because only like that they can provide to themselves and to their families secure livelihoods – said Jasmina Barac – Perovic during the visit of Assistant Minister of labor and social policy Vladimir Pesic. Jasmina Barac Perovic, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, known to Nis` and wider public in that it is always ready to fight and to help to others. She is founder of two associations, Association of Students with handicap and Association for Support and Legal Assistance to the Persons with Disabilities. With husband Miljan she founded Club “Dolphin”. Under the auspices of this club Miljan who graduated Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, but he is without job, helps to the children with disabilities to learn to swim, but focuses on other sports.
Assistant Minister of labor and social policy, Vladimir Pesic, indicates that help is needed to the families with disabilities, especially when they have small children: “We are trying to help, especially when the baby is small and when it is needed all those things that is necessary to everybody, as stroller, diapers, carriers and all those things that are important for babies, said Vladimir Pesic.
Assistant Minister of labor and social policy his visit to Nis ended in family Natasa and Dejan Simandli handing gifts and to their children.
Action of this type will continue and in the future in whole Serbia. There is still no data basis about persons with disabilities, but we work on that. For now the Ministry gets information about of these families from local organizations and associations of persons with disabilities. |
